I’m a Little Teapot

I’m a little teapot
Short and stout,
Last night I was Moses
Speaking on the Mount,
Increasingly these episodes
Are what I am about,
Don’t tip me over
I’m filled with doubt.

Frere Jacques

Frere Jacques visits his rich brother. They have a lovely dinner and drink so much wine that Jacques falls asleep. His brother has to leave, but before he does, he sews a priceless jewel in Jacques’ robe. Jacques wakes up and without knowing about the jewel goes about his life but always seems to be in want. He is okay with that, that is what he has done his whole life, but when he meets his brother a year later, the brother is shocked at the condition Jacques’ poverty has brought him to and shows him the jewel that he had been carrying around with him all this time. Jacques realizes for the first time that he possesses a priceless treasure and is overjoyed.
