I Brought Up the Sun

I brought up the sun today,
From its dark place smoky gray,
Walked into the hellish pit
And brought her out despite of it.

Now we walk the emerald green,
Nothing standing in between,
Hand in hand we seek life out
To understand what it’s about.

I brought up the moon tonight
Challenged her to find her light
Flew right out my window case
And found her in her other place.

Now we fly between the stars
Night sky partners happy are,
Surprising those who sought the night
We turn depression to delight.

I brought out my heart just now,
The darkness wanted me to bow,
But for the faith I yearn to see,
Seedlings sprout in front of me.

Old People

Old people are artists,
They feel the turning,
And see the lights
Ahead still burning.

No longer bothered
With youth to blind them,
Their wisdom stretched out,
Before and behind them.

Traversing horizons
They paint all sublime,
Even this moment
In ¾ time.
